SYMPTOMS

When you edit or create projects in any of the programs listed in the "applies to" section of this article, you may receive the following error message:
PIP Caused an Invalid Page Fault in CPIQDOC5.dll

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if Microsoft Internet Explorer has become corrupted.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, run a repair procedure on Internet Explorer. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  3. Double-click Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 and Internet Tools.
  4. Click the Repair Internet Explorer option, and then click OK.
  5. Click Yes to run the repair process.
  6. Click Yes to the message that prompts you to restart your computer.
