Visio2002: Text in WMF Picture Inserted in Drawing Has Overlapping Letters (294122)

When you insert a Windows Metafile (WMF) picture into Microsoft Visio 2002, any text in the inserted metafile may unexpectedly be displayed with the letters overlapped.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs when both of the following conditions are true:
- The drawing contains a WMF picture that includes text.
-and- - The drawing is opened in Visio on Microsoft Windows 98 or Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me).
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, convert the WMF pictures to another format, such as Enhanced Metafile format, before you insert them into a Visio drawing.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
