Visio2002: Multiple Connection Points Are Left Behind After You Nudge a Room Shape (294116)

  • Microsoft Visio 2002 Professional

This article was previously published under Q294116

SYMPTOMS

When you use a Building Plan solution that uses the Walls, Shell and Structure stencil in Microsoft Visio, connection points (blue "x" characters) may be left behind as you nudge a Room shape while a Wall shape is glued to its perimeter.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, temporarily turn off the Snap and Glue options before you nudge the Room shape. To do this, use the Snap & Glue toolbar to switch the buttons to off, or follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Snap & Glue.
  2. Click the General tab, and then click to clear the check boxes next to Snap and Glue in the Currently Active group.
The Room shape can now be nudged without the addition of multiple connection points. Click to select the Snap and Glue check boxes when the operation is complete.

NOTE: The Wall shape can be nudged without additional connection points appearing.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
