Visio2002: Shape Is Not Displayed in Page-Centric View in a Visio Web Site Map (294110)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Visio 2002 Standard
  • Microsoft Visio 2002 Professional

This article was previously published under Q294110

SYMPTOMS

In a Microsoft Visio Web site map diagram, when you double-click a shape in an attempt to display the shape in page-centric view, the shape may not be placed at the center of the page with links arranged around it as expected. Instead, the Web site map may display the shape that you selected (as well as other shapes on the site map) as separate elements, without any links connecting them.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because Visio allows you to collapse a shape that is not the center shape in page-centric view. A Visio Web site map displays shapes that represent links on your Web site in a tree-like structure. When you double-click a shape, this action collapses the tree. As a result, if the shape has links beneath it that are connected, the links are not displayed.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, double-click the shape again to display the shape in page-centric view. This action expands the tree, places the shape in the center of the page, and displays the links to that shape above it and the links from that shape beneath it.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
