Visio2002: You Cannot Modify Cross-Referenced Layer Properties by Using CAD Drawing Properties Dialog Box (294094)

SYMPTOMS

When you open an AutoCAD drawing (.dwg or .dxf file) that contains cross-referenced (XRef) layers to a second AutoCAD drawing, you cannot modify layer properties by using the CAD Drawing Properties dialog box.

For example, when you open the CAD Drawing Properties dialog box (by double-clicking the drawing), clear all the items in the Visible column on the Layer tab, and then click OK, all layers in the drawing remain visible.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
