Visio2002: Visio Takes an Unreasonably Long Time to Quit (294082)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Visio 2002 Standard
- Microsoft Visio 2002 Professional
This article was previously published under Q294082 SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to quit Microsoft Visio, the program may take an unreasonable amount of time to quit. For example, it may take as much as 45 seconds for Visio to quit on a computer with a Pentium III 450 megahertz (MHz) processor.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur because the Undo feature in Visio allocates memory for every shape in a drawing. This memory has to be released before Visio can quit completely. Therefore, documents with a large number of shapes may cause Visio to take an unreasonably long time to quit.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
