Visio2002: Geometry of Object Is Changed When You Convert AutoCAD Drawing That Contains Ray Object (294073)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Visio 2002 Professional

This article was previously published under Q294073

SYMPTOMS

When you convert an AutoCAD drawing that contains a ray object, Microsoft Visio changes the geometry of the object and does not create a master on the Document Stencil as expected.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, manually resize and reposition the ray object. To create a master on the Document Stencil, follow these steps:
  1. On the File menu, point to Stencils, and then click Document Stencil if it is not already visible.
  2. Press and hold down the CTRL key, and then click and drag the ray object to the Document Stencil.NOTE: The master is named Master.0 by default, but it is possible to rename it.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

A ray is a line in 3-D space that starts at a point that you specify and extends to infinity in only one direction. As a result, rays help reduce the visual clutter caused by numerous x lines in AutoCAD.
