Visio2002: Some Shapes Don't Have Links to Any Other Shapes on Web Site Map (294018)

When you work with Web site maps created in Microsoft Visio, you may notice one of the following symptoms:
- You may see some files that are not linked to any other files.
- When you delete a link in the List window, not all the child item or sub-items of that link are removed from the drawing.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs when all of the following conditions are true:
- In the List window, you delete a link from a Web site map.
-and-
- The link has child items or sub-items.
-and-
- Those child items or sub-items are referenced on other Web pages in the site map.
RESOLUTION
To avoid this problem, follow these steps to delete a link and all sub-items from a Web site map:
- Start Visio, and then open the Web site map.
- On the drawing, right-click the top of the hierarchy that you want to delete, and then click Collapse.
- Press the DELETE key.
- If the List window is not visible on the drawing, point to Windows on the Web menu, and then click to select the List Window check box.
- Point to List window, find the link that was deleted from the drawing, right-click the name of the file, and then click Delete.
