  • Microsoft Visio 2002 Standard
  • Microsoft Visio 2002 Professional
  • the operating system: Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition

This article was previously published under Q293967

SYMPTOMS

When you open or save a Visio file, your computer maps a network drive, and then opens a new Windows Explorer window for the mapped network drive.

CAUSE

This issue occurs if you are using the Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Windows Me) operating system, and you are using an Open Document Management API (ODMA) program (such as Docs Open by PC Docs).

RESOLUTION

This issue does not affect the performance of Visio. Only one network drive is ever mapped, and additional drives are not mapped for each file that you open or save. Also, when you quit Visio, the single mapped network drive is also closed.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
