SYMPTOMS
When you copy and paste a Microsoft Visio drawing into another program, the background image (page) may not be pasted with the selection.
CAUSE
When you drop a background shape onto a page, Visio asks if you would like to make it the background image for the page. If you click Yes, Visio places the background shape on a separate background page, and does not make it a selectable item on the foreground page.
RESOLUTION
To copy the background page image along with the shapes on the foreground page, follow these steps:
- Make sure that nothing is currently selected by using any of the following methods:
- Click the blue, drawing workspace.
- On the drawing page, click a vacant area that does not contain a shape.
- On the Edit menu, click Select Special. Click None, and then click OK.
- On the Edit menu, click Copy Drawing.
The Clipboard now contains both the foreground page and the background page.
