Clip2002: "Pure Virtual Function Call" Error When You Start Clip Organizer (293831)

When you start Microsoft Clip Organizer, you receive the following error message
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library:
Runtime Error!
Program: OfficePath\Office10\MSTOREDB.EXE
R6025
-pure virtual function call.
where OfficePath refers to the location of your Office XP installation directory.
If you click OK, you receive a second error message similar to one of the following:
Microsoft Clip Organizer:
Clip Organizer cannot complete the operation.
The remote procedure failed.
Error Code 0x800706BE
Microsoft Clip Organizer:
The RPC Server is unavailable.
Error Code 0x800706BA
Microsoft Clip Organizer:
Not enough memory. Try closing other applications or restarting the compupter.
Not enough storage is available to complete this operation.
Error Code 0x8007000E
After you click OK, you can only access the Office Collections and Web Collections folders in the Collections List pane.
CAUSE
This issue occurs when the user catalog, the Mstore10.mgc file, has become damaged. This file stores all changes to your Clip Organizer installation, as well as your personal clip collections and downloaded clips.
If the Mstore10.mgc file is damaged, you receive at least two of the error messages described in the "Symptoms" section whenever you start Clip Organizer.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
- In Windows Explorer, locate the Mstore10.mgc file in the appropriate folder for your operating system.
Microsoft Windows 2000
C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Microsoft\Clip Organizer\mstore10.mgc
where Username is the name of the person currently logged on to the computer.
Microsoft Windows NT 4.0
C:\WINNT\Profiles\Username\Application Data\Microsoft\Clip Organizer\mstore10.mgc
where Username is the name of the person currently logged on to the computer.
Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows 98, or Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me)
C:\Windows\Application Data\Microsoft\Clip Organizer\mstore10.mgc
- Right-click the Mstore10.mgc file, and then click Rename on the shortcut menu. Rename the file to mstore10.old.
- Start Clip Organizer.
Clip Organizer re-creates the Mstore10.mgc file, and then prompts you to scan your hard disk drives again for clip art to be categorized and cataloged.
