The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003
- Microsoft PowerPoint 2002
This article was previously published under Q293529 SYMPTOMS
When you view a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation in Microsoft Internet Explorer, the Compress
animation effect does not appear the same as it appeared in Microsoft PowerPoint.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur when you create a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation that applies the Compress animation effect to text only. When you apply the Compress animation effect to text in PowerPoint, the effect behaves differently in Internet Explorer.
NOTE: The Compress animation effect behaves differently only when it is applied to text. If you apply the Compress animation effect to an object, the effect behaves as expected in Internet Explorer.
WORKAROUNDFor Microsoft PowerPoint 2002 and for Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003To work around this problem, click Web Page Preview on the File menu to see how the presentation will appear in Internet Explorer. If the animation in Internet Explorer does not meet your needs, try using a different effect.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
