XL2002: Incorrect Number Alignment in Right-to-left Worksheets with Wrap Text Alignment (293467)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to right-align or left-align a cell, Excel applies the opposite alignment of the one you selected.

CAUSE

This occurs when all of the following conditions are true:
  • The View current sheet right-to-left option is selected. To locate this option, click Options on the Tools menu, and then click the International tab.

    -and-
  • The cell contains a number.

    -and-
  • The cell is formatted with Wrap text formatting. To locate this option, click Cells on the Format menu and then click the Alignment tab.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
