WD2002: Cannot Place Insertion Point into Right-to-Left Text by Clicking It (293367)

NOTE: This article discusses complex scripts functionality. SYMPTOMS

When you click right-to-left text that is left-aligned, the insertion point is not placed into the text where you clicked.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when no right-to-left language is turned on in the Microsoft Office XP Language Settings.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, turn on the appropriate right-to-left language for your document in the Microsoft Office XP Language Settings. To do this, follow these steps:

Click Start, point to Programs, click Microsoft Office Tools, and then click Microsoft Office XP Language Settings.
Click Enabled Languages.
In the Available Languages list, select the language or languages that you want to turn on, click Add, and then click OK.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
