  • Microsoft Clip Organizer 2002

This article was previously published under Q293305

SYMPTOMS

When you try to use Voice Command mode with the Clip Organizer, Voice Command mode does not work.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when you start the Clip Organizer from the Start menu or from a desktop icon, or if you click the Clip Organizer link at the bottom of the Clip Organizer task pane to start the stand-alone version. Clip Organizer is designed to use Voice Command only when the program is run within a task pane inside a Microsoft Office XP program.

WORKAROUND

Voice Command mode works as expected when you use the Clip Organizer in the Insert Clip Art task pane of an Office XP program. To use Voice Command mode in the Clip Organizer, follow these steps:
  1. Start an Office XP program -- for example, Microsoft Word 2002.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Speech (if it is not already selected).
  3. After the Language toolbar appears, say "voice command".
  4. Say "insert".

    The Insert menu expands.
  5. Say "picture".

    The Picture context menu appears.
  6. Say "clip art".

The Insert Clip Art task pane (Clip Organizer) appears.

STATUS
