Visio2002: Unable to Set Custom Paper Size for HP DesignJet 450c (293183)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Visio 2002 Standard
- Microsoft Visio 2002 Professional
This article was previously published under Q293183 For a Microsoft Visio 2000 version of this article, see 293514.
SYMPTOMS
If you use the Hewlett-Packard (HP) DesignJet 450c printer, you may not be able to print custom page sizes for your Microsoft Visio drawings. Visio reverts to using the page size of the drawing, which remains set to 8.5-by-11 inches.
RESOLUTION
To work around this problem, set the custom page size by using the Printers icon in Control Panel. If you set the custom page size for your system as a whole, Visio uses the correct paper size.
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers.
- Right-click the HP DesignJet icon, and then click Properties on the shortcut menu.
NOTE: If you are using Microsoft Windows 2000 or Microsoft Windows NT, click Printing Preferences, otherwise continue to the next step. - Click the Paper Size tab.
- Click More Sizes.
- Select one of the custom paper sizes next to Name.
- Enter the custom paper size that you want.
- Click OK to close each dialog box.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. MORE INFORMATION
When you choose the custom paper size in Visio, Visio may not display the correct size in the Printer Setup dialog box, but it does display the correct size on the Print Setup tab of the Page Setup dialog box, and the actual paper size is correct.
