WD2002: Text Is Not Replaced When You Type Over a Selection in the Reviewing Pane (293146)

SYMPTOMS

In the Reviewing Pane in Microsoft Word 2002, when you select text and type new text to replace the selection, the new text is inserted in front of the selection, and the selected text is retained.

CAUSE

Text in the Reviewing Pane is not automatically deleted when you type over a selection.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, delete the selection and then type the new text.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
