This article was previously published under Q293075 SYMPTOMS
After you upgrade from Microsoft Outlook Express to Outlook 2002, the toolbar has no Send button and the File menu has neither a Send command nor a Mail Messages command. This occurs when a Hotmail account is the only account you have in Outlook Express.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because Outlook 2002 does not import Hotmail information from Outlook Express.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, set up an Outlook account that points to the Hotmail account: - On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.
- Click Add a new e-mail account, and then click Next.
- Click HTTP, and then click Next.
- Type your user and logon information, and then click Next. Click Finish.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
