SYMPTOMS

When you start Outlook, the program may not start. A warning message states that Outlook did not shut down properly and asks if you would like to start in Safe mode.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if you install Terminal Services after you install Outlook.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, reinstall Outlook after installing Terminal Services.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
