OL2002: Outlook Hangs Briefly and Does Not Load a Specified Home Page at Startup (293036)

SYMPTOMS

When you set the Inbox in Outlook 2002 to start to a home page, Outlook stops responding (hangs) for about 30 seconds and then does not load the home page. This behavior occurs upon each restart of Outlook 2002.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, after Outlook loads, click another folder in the Folder List, and then click the Inbox again.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
