OL2002: Message You Send by Using Hotmail Appears in Both PST and Hotmail Sent Items Folders (293003)

SYMPTOMS

When you send a message by using a Hotmail account, the message appears in both the PST (Personal Store) and the Hotmail Sent Items folder.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

If you are only accessing Hotmail from the web page or using the MSN.com account inside MSN Explorer (for example, using your Web Browser, not using Microsoft Outlook) then the Sent mail is only on the Hotmail or MSN mail servers.

Note: Only MSN users who have upgraded to MSN Explorer will use the HTTP service to access their MSN e-mail. Users who are still using MSN 5.3 or earlier still need to use a POP3 account to receive e-mail.
