OL2002: Cannot Respond to the First Meeting in a Recurring Series If the Sender's Time Zone Is in the Positive Range (292978)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Outlook 2002
- Microsoft Outlook 2000
This article was previously published under Q292978 SYMPTOMS
When you are using Outlook in a time zone that is in the positive range of Greenwich mean time (for example, +0100, the time zone of much of western Europe and western Africa) and you receive a recurring meeting request from someone who is in a time zone that is in the negative range (for example, -0800, the Pacific time zone in the United States), you may not be able to respond to the first instance of the recurring meeting.
Whether you try to accept, tentatively accept, decline, or propose a time from the Calendar for the first meeting in the series, you receive the following error message:
Cannot reschedule an occurrence of the recurring appointment "Cp Test - future start" if it skips over a later occurrence of the same appointment.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. MORE INFORMATION
Only recurring meetings are affected, and this issue occurs for only the first instance of a recurring meeting. Meeting requests between two people who are both in the negative time zone range are not affected.
