The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Outlook 2002

This article was previously published under Q292871

SYMPTOMS

If you enter an invalid Uniform Resource Locator (URL) when you save a calendar as a Web page, Outlook 2002 attempts to save the calendar to the invalid network location until you receive the following error message:
The Operation Failed
Until the error message appears, it may seems as though Outlook is performing the upload normally because it prompts you for the correct username and password to save to the URL.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because Outlook 2002 does not verify the validity of the URL before it attempts the upload.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, enter a valid URL.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
