SYMPTOMS

When you create a contact from the Microsoft Exchange Server global address list, it displays a Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) address when you are working online and Microsoft Exchange (EX) Addresses when you are working offline. For example, you see the SMTP address "user@microsoft.com" (without quotation marks) when you view your contact online and you see an EX address, such as "Firstname Lastname" (without quotation marks), when you are working offline.
