OL2002: (Korean) Message Size Increases When You Download a Message to a PST from Exchange 2000 (292850)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Outlook 2002
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server
This article was previously published under Q292850 SYMPTOMS
If you use a personal folders (.pst) file as the delivery point to receive a message in the Korean version of Outlook 2002, the message appears to have increased in size from the original message that was stored on the Exchange 2000 Server.
CAUSE
The Exchange 2000 Server determines the download properties that are downloaded to Outlook 2002 during a fast transfer of messages. The fast transfer code that is used to copy a message to Outlook 2002 from the Exchange 2000 Server includes the PR_BODY_HTML property. The PR_BODY_HTML property for a message (as translated by the Exchange 2000 Server) adds some additional file size and overhead to the message as a function of that message's size.
In the Korean version of Outlook 2002, this process continues to add to the file size.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Korean version of Outlook 2002. MORE INFORMATION
This problem does not occur when you download messages from Microsoft Exchange 5.5 to a .pst file.
