OL2002: The 'Attachment' Option Only Returns One Attachment (292844)

SYMPTOMS

When you click the Attachment option in the Paste Options box, only one attachment is retained.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if the following situations are true:
  1. You create a new message in Microsoft Outlook Rich Text format and you use Microsoft Word as your e-mail editor.
  2. You insert multiple attachments to this message.
  3. You copy the attachments (at least two or more).
  4. You create a new Rich Text formatted e-mail message and do not use Word as the e-mail editor.
  5. You attempt to use the Attachment option in the Paste Options box to paste the attachments from step 3.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, click Paste on the Edit menu. You can also use the Keep Source Formatting option in the Paste options.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
