OL2002: Profile Settings for Signature Are Not Maintained Through Removal and Reinstallation (292833)

SYMPTOMS

When you remove Outlook 2002 and then reinstall it, the profile settings for your digital signature and encryption are not maintained.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, reset the option after you reinstall Outlook 2002:
  1. Start Outlook.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Security tab.
  3. Click to select the Add digital signature to outgoing messages check box, and then click OK.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
