Visio2000: Fill Color Changes or Disappears When You Paste Visio Drawing into Word (292817)

SYMPTOMS

When you copy a Microsoft Visio drawing and paste it into a Microsoft Word document, the fill color of the graphics may be changed, or it may disappear entirely.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you copy the objects by using the Copy command on the Edit menu in Visio.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
  1. Click the background of your drawing in Visio.
  2. On the Edit menu, click Copy Drawing.
  3. Switch to Microsoft Word.
  4. On the Edit menu, click Paste. The drawing is pasted successfully and the colors are preserved.
