Visio2000: Computer Stops Responding When You Open Organizational Chart Drawing (292809)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to open a Microsoft Visio Organizational Chart drawing, the computer may stop responding after the Post Processing Shapes dialog box appears.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the drawing contains an organization chart with automation events.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, disable automation events in Visio before you open the drawing that contains the organization chart. To disable automation events, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Advanced tab.
  2. Under Developer Settings, click to clear the Enable automation events check box, and then click OK.
