After you upgrade your virtual server from Microsoft Office 2000 Server Extensions to SharePoint Team Services from Microsoft, the following error message may repeatedly appear in the Event Viewer Application Log:
ADO failure (80040e37): invalid object name 'comcrit'
CAUSE
This problem occurs when the Office 2000 Server Extensions timer remains active after you upgrade to SharePoint Team Services.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, turn off the Office 2000 Server Extensions
timer. To do this, follow these steps:
- Right-click My Computer, and then click Manage on the shortcut menu that appears.
- In the Computer Management Console, expand Services and Applications, and then expand Services.
- Right-click Office Server Extensions Timer Service, and then click Properties on the shortcut menu that appears.
- Click the Stop button.
- In the Startup type list, click Disabled.
- Click the OK button.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. MORE INFORMATION
When you upgrade to SharePoint Team Services, the Office 2000 Server Extensions timer may remain active. Because of this, the Office 2000 Server Extensions timer queries the database at five minute intervals. Because the database has been upgraded to SharePoint Team Services, an error is logged in the Application Log of Event Viewer.
