STS: Files Are Overwritten Without Warning When You Create a Subweb (292652)

When you create a subweb in a web based on SharePoint Team Services from Microsoft, files and folders that are stored in SharePoint team Web site folder are overwritten.
You do not receive any warning that files or folders will be overwritten when creating the subweb.
CAUSE
This problem can occur if the files or folders in the newly created subweb have the same names as the files or folders that are created by SharePoint Team Services.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
