STS: No Error Message When You Incorrectly Use the "-p all" Parameter in an Owsadm.exe Command Line (292641)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Owsadm.exe command-line utility to administer a virtual server, you are able to use the -p all parameter in an operation in which it does not apply.

You expect to receive an error message when you use an invalid argument in the owsadm.exe command.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, use the -p all parameter with only those Owsadm.exe command-line operations that support it.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
