SYMPTOMS

When you make changes on the custom tab of an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) device's properties dialog box, the settings may not be saved. This occurs if you do not first make changes to one or more of the standard OEM device properties.

You may also experience trouble with the device's performance, for example in printing.

RESOLUTION

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Windows 2000.

This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 2.
