XL2002: Excel Stops Responding When Watch Window Is Open (292489)

SYMPTOMS

When you switch to Microsoft Excel while the Watch Window toolbar is open, Excel appears to stop responding.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when you do the following:
  1. You display the Watch Window toolbar and click a Watch Window entry.
  2. You do not dock the Watch Window toolbar.
  3. You switch to another program by clicking its icon on the taskbar.
  4. You switch back to Excel by clicking the Excel icon on the taskbar.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, click the Excel icon on the taskbar a second time.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
