XL2002: Address Is Not Inserted into Worksheet When You Click "Insert Address" on Smart Tag Menu (292474)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q292474 SYMPTOMS
When you type the name of a Microsoft Outlook contact into a Microsoft Excel worksheet cell, and then click Insert Address on the smart tag button that appears, the address of that contact is not inserted into the worksheet as expected. If the name is a contact in the local Outlook Contacts folder, the contact is displayed. If not, you receive the following error message:
Microsoft Outlook could not find the requested contact.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because the smart tag cannot insert the contact address into an Excel worksheet.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, copy and paste the information that you want if the contact appears when you click Insert Address. The contact appears only if the name recognized by the smart tag exists in the local Contacts folder in Microsoft Outlook 2002.
