XL2002: "Import Text File" Dialog Box Is Displayed When You Refresh External Data (292469)

When you import data from a text file into Microsoft Excel, and then refresh the data, the Import Text File dialog box may be displayed unexpectedly.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur when all of the following conditions are true:
- You attempt to refresh data from an external source.
-and- - The data was imported from a text file.
-and- - The Prompt for file name on refresh option is selected.
RESOLUTION
To prevent this dialog box from appearing, follow these steps:
- Start Excel, and then open the workbook that contains the external data.
- Click any cell in the external data section of the worksheet.
- On the External Data toolbar, click Data Range Properties.
- Click to clear the Prompt for file name on refresh check box.
- Click OK.
