WD2002: Word Quits Unexpectedly When You Edit Links of Images with Long File Names (292134)

When you attempt to edit the links in a Microsoft Word document, Word may quit unexpectedly.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs when the following conditions are true:
- You insert and link an image that has a file name of greater than 250 characters.
-and- - You select Tight, Behind text, or In front of text as the wrapping style for the image.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, shorten the length of the file name.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
