SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Photo Editor Help for information about installing or removing Photo Editor, the Help topic refers to Microsoft Office 2000.

You expect the Help topic to refer to Microsoft Office XP.

CAUSE

Step 4 of the I want to install or remove Photo Editor Photo Editor Help topic contains a documentation error. Step 4 reads, "Click Microsoft Office." Step 4 of this Help topic should appear as follows:

To work around this problem, click Microsoft Office XP in step 4 of the Help topic.

To install or to remove Microsoft Photo Editor, follow these steps:
  1. Insert the Microsoft Office XP compact disc into the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.
  2. On the Start menu, click Run.
  3. In the Open box, type drive:\Setup.exe, where drive is the drive letter of the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive that contains the Office XP CD.
  4. On the Maintenance Mode Options screen of Setup, click Add or Remove Features - Change which features are installed or remove specific features, and then click Next.
  5. Under Features to install, expand Office Tools.
  6. Click Microsoft Photo Editor, and then click Run from My Computer if you want to install Photo Editor, or click Not Available if you want to remove Photo Editor. Click Update.
  7. When the update is complete, click OK.
