WD2002: On-Screen Symbol and Standard Keyboards Are Still Available After You Remove Handwriting Recognition Feature (292099)

SYMPTOMS

After you remove the Handwriting feature from the Office Shared Features, On-Screen Standard Keyboard and On-Screen Symbol Keyboard are still available on the Language bar and in the Text Services dialog box.

WORKAROUND

Use the Text Services dialog box to remove the on-screen standard keyboard and the on-screen symbol keyboard. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. In Control Panel, double-click Text Services.
  3. In the Text Services dialog box, click On-Screen Standard Keyboard , and then click Remove.
  4. In the Text Services dialog box, click On-Screen Symbol Keyboard, and then click Remove.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
