WD2002: Blank Pages at End of Booklet Are Not Printed When You Use the Book Fold Option (292091)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Word 2002

This article was previously published under Q292091

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Word, when you print a document as a booklet, if you set the Sheets per booklet setting in the Page Setup dialog box to a greater number of pages than the document contains (with the intent of adding blank pages to the end of the document), the blank pages are not printed when you print the booklet.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if the Book fold option is selected in the Multiple pages list in the Page Setup dialog box: Word prints only those pages that contain information.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, insert page breaks at the end of the document. To insert page breaks, follow these steps:
  1. Place the cursor at the end of the document.
  2. On the Insert menu, click Break.
  3. In the Break dialog box, make sure that Page break is selected, and then click OK.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to add additional blank pages.
  5. On the File menu, click Print.
Notice that additional blank pages are printed at the end of the document.
