WD2002: OK and Cancel Buttons Are Not Displayed in the Options Dialog Box (292088)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Word, when you open the Options dialog box (on the Tools menu), the OK and Cancel buttons may not be displayed as expected.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if both of the following conditions are true:
  • The Microsoft Windows display settings are configured with a screen area of 640 by 480 pixels.

    -and-
  • The taskbar is docked at the bottom of the desktop and is resized to a height that is greater than the default height.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, resize the taskbar to its default size or move the taskbar to a different location.

NOTE: The OK and Cancel buttons may appear clipped.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
