OL2002: Cannot Use Preview Pane in Outlook View Control (292031)

SYMPTOMS

When you are creating a custom solution using the Outlook View Control, you cannot enable the preview pane in the control.

CAUSE

The Outlook View Control is not designed to display a separate preview pane.

WORKAROUND

To work around this limitation, instead of using the preview pane, set the control to use the AutoPreview feature, which displays the first 255 characters of an e-mail message in the same pane. To do this for a view of the Inbox, set the View property of the control to "Messages with AutoPreview."
