XL2001: Use of GoTo and Find Exits Formula Editing Mode (291860)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to use the Go To or Find dialog boxes while you create a formula, Excel selects a cell and exits formula editing mode. If the formula is incomplete or lacks arguments, you may receive an error message.

CAUSE

This problem occurs due to a change in functionality in Microsoft Excel 2001 for Mac from earlier versions.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Excel X for Mac.
