Event ID 5001 Occurs When the Computer Comes Out of Standby (291552)

After your computer comes out of Standby, the following event ID message may be logged in the System event log:
Event ID: 5001
Event Source: EL90BC
Description: \DEVICE\{46D7F3EC-7F4D-4362-983C-427C70D6CF0A} : Could not allocate the resources necessary for operation
CAUSE
This issue can occur if you are using a 3Com Etherlink XL 10/100 PCI For Complete PC Management network adapter (3C905C-TX).
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue:
- In Device Manager, right-click the network adapter, and then click Properties.
- Click the Power Management tab, and then click to clear the Allow this computer to turn off this device to save power check box.
