The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Outlook 2002

This article was previously published under Q291516

SYMPTOMS

After you upgrade to Outlook 2002 and you import your Personal Address Book (PAB) addresses, the E-mail field displays a First Name and a Last Name in the Detailed Address Cards view. The names are not separated by a space.

For instance, if you import a Personal Address Book address for John Doe, the name in the E-mail field appears as JohnDoe.

NOTE: This only occurs for X.400 and X.500 address types.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, edit the Display Name field of the impacted Contacts and place a space between the first and last names. To do this:
  1. In the Contacts folder, double click to open the Contact that is not displayed correctly.
  2. In the Contact, double click the underlined (resolved) e-mail address in the E-mail field.
  3. Edit the Display Name field to include a space between the first and last names, and then click OK.
  4. Click Save and Close, and the Contact displays correctly.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
