SYMPTOMS

When you view a drawing, one or more of the following symptoms may occur:
  • Menus, toolbars, title bars, status bars, scrollbars, and stencils disappear from Visio.
  • A single drawing page fills the screen with a black background. No drawing grid is visible.
  • You cannot edit the page that appears on screen.

CAUSE

If you do not see any part of the Visio interface, you may be in full-screen view (press F10). This view is useful if you want to see as much of the drawing page as possible while you are working.

RESOLUTION

To return to your usual screen, use either of the following methods.

Method 1: Press the ESC key

Press ESC to switch Visio back to the regular editing environment.

Method 2: Close full-screen view with the mouse

To close the full-screen view with the mouse, right-click anywhere in the window, and then click Close.
