OL2000: You Cannot Set Delegate Access to a Distribution List in Exchange 2000 Server (290902)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q290902 SYMPTOMS
If you set delegate access permissions to a distribution list by using Outlook in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server, the delegate access permissions are not saved and revert back to None when you click OK in the Delegate Access dialog box.
This behavior occurs when you set the delegate access permission for an individual. In Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5, you can set delegate access permission to a distribution list.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because Microsoft Exchange Server 2000 has a limitation in the way it uses distribution lists to set Access Control Lists (ACLs) in mixed domain configurations.
