SYMPTOMS

If you create your own smart tag recognizer, these new smart tags are not recognized in PowerPoint.

CAUSE

PowerPoint does not support extended smart tags.

MORE INFORMATION

Smart tags are a new feature in Microsoft Office XP which allow data and behaviors to be associated with text strings.

Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word are the only Office XP applications that currently support extended smart tags. Other Office and non-Office programs may support them in the future.
