XCCC: "Add/Remove Programs" Does Not List Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server SP1 (290875)

After you install Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server Service Pack 1 (SP1), you may notice that there is no reference to the service pack in Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel. Although Add/Remove Programs does display Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server, Add/Remove Programs does not list a version number, which may be confusing to administrators who want to uninstall the service pack and leave Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server installed.

WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, confirm whether or not a service pack or fix was applied. Check the version number of an executable file that is installed with Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server, for example, Xconfmgr.exe. The release version of this file is 4417.0; any version later than 4417.0 indicates that either a fix or a service pack has been applied.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 1.
