SYMPTOMS

When you start your computer, you may receive the following basic input/output system (BIOS) error message:
Do you want to run setup?
After you receive this error message, you are prompted to wait, and you may receive the following BIOS error message:
PRI Master HDD Error run setup

F1 to resume
If you then press F1, you may receive the following BIOS error message:
boot failure in drive a

boot record from floppy not found

boot record from CD-ROM not found

CAUSE

This issue can occur if your BIOS is damaged.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use either of the following methods:
  • View the documentation that is included with your computer for information about how to fix a problem with your BIOS.
  • Contact the manufacturer of your computer to determine how to fix the problem with your BIOS.
